📄️ Storage Library
HOMER Front supports customizing storage components. To do so, begin by adding from a sample, importing a storage file, or editing an existing component in your library. Select the vertical ellipses and navigate to the editing page.

📄️ Storage DC/DC Converter
Using HOMER Front, we can calculate the optimal sizing, cost, and capacity of the Storage Converter necessary when adding a Storage component. The Storage DC/DC Converter is an optional way to model the inefficiency, costs, and total capacity.
📄️ Auxiliary Load
Model an auxiliary load as a percentage of the storage energy capacity (MWh). If the storage serves the auxiliary load, the minimum state of charge is increased by the given percentage. Otherwise, the load is assumed to be served by an external source such as the grid. You can provide either a flat rate or a time series price strip.
📄️ Augmentation
Augmentation is the process of supplementing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity ––“upsizing” the capacity at the outset, adding battery capacity to the project site to supplement battery capacity losses and integrating new capacity.Every successful project needs an energy capacity degradation plan. The energy capacity of batteries inevitably decreases with time and usage. There are several approaches for mitigating battery degradation in an augmentation plan. This allows the nominal capacity of the BESS to remain.
